It all began . . .
The Quilt Shop opened in April 1996, in a 1000 square foot store front on Main St., in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Due to shipping delays, there were less than 100 bolts of fabric in the store, but the doors were opened as planned. Customers were excited to have the shop in the area, supportive and patient.
In March of 1999, the shop was relocated to111 Hwy 18, Cambridge. The new spot gave us a great parking lot, room to grow and a bigger classroom. Seven years flew by - samples were everywhere, yarn had been added, and it was time once again to move.
In February 2006, the shop relocated back to Main St., in Cambridge, right in the center of town. The shop was bright and airy, in a historic building originally built for a hardware store. What a delightful space to have the shop located in!
After spending twelve years focusing on the shop, I made the decision to give up the brick and mortar portion of the business, and become an on-line and quilt show based business. April 27, 2008 was the last day the store was open in Cambridge.
Update - May 2009
Since closing the shop last April, I have kept busy with one thing and another. I took a much needed break from quilting and creating. I did a lot of bike riding, reading, walking, cooking, and spending time with my family. I took a web design class from October to December, which has led to this new web site. I became a grandmother again in February, and now I have two cute little boys to love. Being a grandma is the greatest!
Update - January 2011
This past year brought another grandson into our lives and I kept busy with family and a full-time job. Unfortunately, my quilt/creative life came to a halt, but a new year is bringing me hope that once again I will find/make time to focus on creative endeavors.
I hope you see many of you soon!
